PU Medical Tape Jumbo Roll
Polyurethane (PU) medical tape is a soft, flexible and breathable adhesive tape designed for wound care and surgical fixation. Made from thin PU film coated with medical-grade adhesive, it provides a waterproof barrier while allowing moisture vapor transmission, helping to keep the skin comfortable during long wear. PU medical tape is commonly used for fixing wound dressings, IV tubes and medical devices, as well as for the production of waterproof wound dressings and transparent film dressings.
Guanma supplies PU medical tape in both jumbo rolls and slit rolls to meet different converting and production requirements. Customized width, length, liner material and adhesive strength are available, and OEM/private label service is supported for brand owners and distributors worldwide.

Advantages
PU medical adhesive tape offers several advantages compared with traditional non-woven or paper medical tape. The PU film structure makes the tape highly conformable and stretchable, allowing it to adapt to body curves such as joints and elbows without lifting. It is waterproof and breathable at the same time, helping maintain a balanced wound environment while protecting the site from water and external contamination.
The acrylic or silicone provides reliable fixation but is gentle to the skin, reducing the risk of irritation when used on sensitive or fragile skin. The tape is transparent, enabling visual inspection of the wound or catheter site without frequent removal, which improves patient comfort and reduces secondary trauma.
Applications
Polyurethane medical tape is widely used in hospitals, clinics and home care settings. Typical applications include fixation of wound dressings, securement of IV catheters and infusion lines, protection of post-surgical incisions, and production of transparent film dressings and waterproof wound dressings.
It is also commonly used by converters as a base material for various advanced wound care products due to its durability, flexibility and moisture-vapor permeability.

FAQS
Q1: What is the difference between PU medical tape and non-woven medical tape?
A: PU medical tape is waterproof, transparent and highly stretchable, while non-woven medical tape is softer and more breathable but not fully waterproof. PU tape is preferred for catheter fixation and waterproof wound dressings, while non-woven tape is often used for general dressing fixation.
Q2: Do you supply PU medical tape in jumbo rolls and slit rolls?
A: Yes. We offer polyurethane medical tape in both jumbo rolls for converters and pre-slit rolls for direct use or further processing. Customized width, length, liner material and adhesive strength are available.
Q3: Which adhesive types are available for PU medical tape?
A: Acrylic and silicone
Q4: Is PU medical tape transparent?
A: The most common type is transparent, but skin PU is also available.
Q5: Is PU medical tape waterproof?
A: Yes. PU medical tape provides a waterproof barrier against water and external contamination while still allowing moisture vapor transmission. This makes it suitable for bathing or light showering when used with waterproof wound dressings or transparent film dressings.
