Our range of medical double-sided tapes almost covers all applications in the medical field. Medical double-sided tape series:

Medical Grade Double-Sided Adhesive Tape Types and Material Options

We do not only supply standard double-sided medical tapes, but focus more on customization according to your application. Adhesive strength, carrier material, coating weight, liner type, die-cut shape and sterilization compatibility can all be customized. We can also provide biocompatibility documentation, ISO 13485 quality system support, and application-specific designs for wound dressings, wearable devices and surgical drapes.

Adhesive systems

We offer hot-melt, acrylic and silicone adhesives. The coating weight can be customized from 30 g/m² to 100 g/m² to precisely control adhesion levels. Different adhesives may also be coated on each side of the tape. For example, a PU double-sided tape can have hot-melt adhesive on the device side for secure fixation, and silicone adhesive on the skin-contact side for gentle removal.

Carrier materials

Available carriers include PET, PE, PU film, tissue paper, non-woven fabric and foam. We also supply carrier-free water-soluble double-sided tapes for surgical drapes. If you require more specialized substrates, please contact our technical team for customization.

Release liner

Medical double-sided tapes generally use double-silicone coated kraft paper liners to prevent blocking. Basis weights are available from 60 g/m² to 120 g/m².

Slitting and die-cutting

The minimum slitting width is 16 mm with a tolerance of less than ±0.05 mm, and the maximum roll width is 1070 mm. Length and width can be freely customized. We also support customized die-cut shapes, perforation, window-opening and multilayer lamination structures.

Application-Specific Solutions for Medical Double-Sided Tapes

1. Wound dressings

Our double-sided medical adhesive tapes are widely used in island dressings and absorbent pad fixation.
They provide strong bonding to non-woven fabrics and PU film while remaining skin-friendly and breathable, helping manufacturers improve dressing integrity and comfort.

2. PU / PE film lamination

We supply double-sided tapes designed for PU/PE film lamination, featuring high transparency, softness and excellent conformability. Adhesion to film substrates can be customized to prevent edge lifting and whitening during application.

3. Surgical drapes

For surgical drape construction, we provide high-tack double-sided tapes that bond strongly to non-woven and SMS drape materials while maintaining sterilization compatibility (EO/Gamma).

4. Catheter fixation

We offer double-sided adhesive tapes suitable for catheter and tubing fixation systems. They combine long-term adhesion with atraumatic removal, helping reduce skin damage in sensitive patients.

5. Wearable medical devices

Our medical-grade double-sided tapes are engineered for wearable devices such as patches and health monitors. They provide reliable adhesion to skin and device housing, with options for sweat-resistance and long wear time.

6. Sensor attachment (ECG / EEG)

We produce specialized double-sided tapes for ECG and EEG electrode attachment. These products offer stable signal transmission, hypoallergenic adhesion, and easy removal, supporting extended monitoring.

7. Ostomy products

For ostomy care manufacturers, we supply double-sided tapes compatible with hydrocolloid and non-woven flanges, providing sealing performance while maintaining skin comfort and flexibility.

8. Bandages & plasters

Our double-sided tapes are widely used in adhesive bandages and plasters, bonding absorbent pads to backing materials and enabling high-speed automated production.

You can choose from our standard products or work with our team to develop a customized double-sided medical tape solution tailored to your device, dressing or manufacturing process.

R&D Co-development Capability

We do not only supply standard products, but also work closely with customers on joint development projects.
Our technical team can support:

  • co-development of new products
  • sample reverse-engineering and formula matching
  • adhesion and performance data comparison tests
  • drop-in alternatives to 3M / Scapa / Avery products

We support technical matching and offer cost-effective alternatives to major branded medical tapes, while maintaining stable quality, biocompatibility and process compatibility with your existing production line.

FAQS about double sided medical adhesive tape

Q1: Can different adhesives be coated on each side of the tape?

Yes, double-coated medical tapes can be customized with different adhesives on each side depending on the function. For example, the device side can use a high-tack hot-melt or acrylic adhesive to ensure firm bonding with plastic housings, while the skin-contact side uses silicone adhesive to provide atraumatic removal. Through adjustment of coating weight, we can fine-tune adhesion to match your required holding force and patient comfort.

Q2: What carrier materials are available?

Medical double-sided tapes can be constructed with PET, PE, PU film, tissue paper, non-woven fabric and foam materials depending on softness and breathability requirements. We can also supply carrier-free water-soluble double-sided tapes used in surgical drapes, which dissolve after use and leave no residue. If you need ultra-thin, transparent or highly breathable constructions, our R&D team can design special carriers and laminate structures for you.

Q3: Are the tapes compatible with sterilization?

Our medical double-sided tapes can be designed to withstand EO, gamma and in some cases steam sterilization. The adhesive system, carrier and release liner are selected to ensure that adhesion, color, odor and liner release force remain stable after sterilization. Before recommending a product, we normally confirm your sterilization method to avoid unexpected performance loss after processing.

Q4: Can you provide biocompatibility and regulatory documentation?

We support ISO 13485 quality management, provide ISO 10993 biocompatibility test reports such as cytotoxicity, sensitization and irritation, and offer technical data sheets, REACH and RoHS statements and full batch traceability. For completely new customized products, we can also assist customers in arranging third-party biocompatibility testing so that the adhesive component can be smoothly included in their regulatory submission.

Q5: Can you supply slit rolls or die-cut parts directly?

Yes, in addition to jumbo rolls, we provide precision slitting and die-cutting services. Width, length and shape can all be customized according to the customer’s converting process. Complex structures such as perforation, window opening and multilayer lamination can also be achieved, allowing the tape to be directly integrated into automated dressing or device assembly lines.

Q6: Can your double-sided medical tapes replace well-known international brands such as 3M or Avery?

In many cases we can offer equivalent or functionally matched alternatives. Through sample analysis and laboratory comparison, we evaluate adhesion, tack, shear strength and carrier structure to provide cost-effective replacements without changing the customer’s production process. For customers who are currently using imported medical tapes but want to localize supply, we can carry out joint development and validation.
